Being Bridget

April 10, 2017

Hi from Switzerland!

Style Mafia: Lock top {also in white + stripes!} // Jeans: Levi’s 721 distressed jeans {under $90!} // Shoes: Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies // Bag: Chelsea28 black clutch // Sunglasses: Celine // Earrings: Bauble Bar ‘Crispin’ drop earrings

Ok you guys – I’m back! & btw hi from Switzerland! Apologies for falling off the face of the planet – I got super swept up in preparing/packing/moving/settling in with this whole move to Switzerland thing, but I’m back and I’m super excited to fill you in on what I’ve been up too!

I started class last Monday and although I was super nervous going into my first day, I cant tell you how relieved I was once I met my teacher and my classmates. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming, and the learning situation hasn’t been as intimidating as I thought it would be. Whats great is that we’re all in the same boat – we’re all super new to the language so it’s easy to feel comfortable when making mistakes. It’s also been really interesting to learn  a full immersion classroom – my teacher speaks less than 5 words of english throughout the entire 4.5 hr day, and many of my classmates don’t speak english at all! I already feel like I’m learning a lot, and I’m excited for that – I feel so ready to absorb this language and finally understand my husband when he speaks with his family 🙂

As for Geneva in general – the house, getting settled, the weather & friends – all has been seriously great. I don’t know what it is, but everything has been incredible since I arrived. The weather has been perfect, all of my husbands old friends have been so kind, and I feel really settled & comfortable in the house and my space. I can’t express to you enough how blessed I feel for this! It’s such a relief to feel at home here 🙂

This past weekend I went and met my husband in London {he flew there mid-week for some meetings} and it was so much fun exploring the city with him. We had dinner the first night at 5 Hartford, and then partied with some friends at Lulus. The next day we had lunch at Barrafina, walked 8 miles exploring Mayfair & Soho, and then ended the day with a quick walk through Hyde park. I That night was dinner & drinks at Arts club and then a speak easy that I’m blanking on the name of. Lastly, on Saturday we went up to Notting Hill to walk through the markets and have brunch at Electric Diner – it was another incredible beautiful day and we sat right in the window and people watched. Honestly, we saw so much over the course of 3 days that it’s impossible to describe everything we saw & did, but I can’t imagine a better tour guide than my husband. Yesterday we went separate ways in Heathrow – I to Geneva, and Alexis back to Dallas. I miss him already!

Last but not least, this outfit! I shot this look back in Dallas before I left, but the top immediately sold out – no surprise there – it’s a classic and at only $60, it’s an incredible price point! Y’all know I already own the white/stripe version too! The jeans are also my new favorites – I had a similar pair from Zara that I wore to death, so I’m happy to have found such an affordable replacement! Get all the details by clicking on the links above or below! Happy Monday friends!
