One Tee: 3 Ways!

Y’all know I love my basics – so when Kate Spade New York asked if I wanted to style their everyday tee 3 ways, I jumped at the challenge! This tee is perfect. Its a bit heavier than just your average tee and the different neckline makes it more unique than any other tee I own. It’s a part of Kate Spade New York’s ‘Broome Street’ collection, which is their new line of ‘casual, but timeless separates.’ Thats basically my style to a T (no pun intended) so let’s just get right down to it!

I paired it first with these simple pants {also from Kate Spade New York!} and my fav pointy toe suede pumps.  I shot this look right before Valentines day, so I stopped by central market for a fresh batch of roses and a sweet lemonade {those counts as accessories, right?} I love how simple, yet crisp this outfit feels. Depending on the accessories, I could wear these two basics to church, work, to run errands, or just to hang around the house. I love that the red lip jazzes this particular version up a bit

quick sip of lemonade….that stuff was really good

Y’all also probably know that I like to keep things simple, but what you probably don’t know is that I’m always cold. Thats why I loved layering this tee with this striped sweater. I love how the shoulder has buttons that you can unbutton to see the shirt peeking out, and how some of the stripes are overlaid with grosgrain ribbon {i’m such a sucker for grosgrain on anything} The chunky knit is also super warm & cozy!

  It warmed up a bit in Dallas, so I decided to switch up this last look with a little splash of color. How good are these shorts?! I’m usually not a sequin kinda gal, but these were TOO good to pass up. I actually like that the sequins dress the look up a bit, and the tshirt makes it a little more casual. Also….this beach cruiser….I borrowed it from my sweet friend Sarah and now…WANT.

Flare Jeans for Tall Girls: Karlie Kloss x Frame Denim White Flare Jeans

sweater: Banana Republic, similar here // jeans: Le Forever Karlie Kloss x Frame Denim Jeans // Shoes: Splendid Jayla Sandals // bag: Saint Lauren Betty Bag // sunglasses: old, similar here

These are the 3rd (!!!!) pair that I own of the ‘Le Forever’ flare jeans‘ – and for a tall girl like myself, they are everything. They are the product of a collaboration that Karlie Kloss did with Frame Denim and they are literraly the answer to my ‘touch the ground’ jean dreams. I had been searching (and praying) for long flare jeans for years. I always envied the shorter girls who had to get their jeans hemmed – they can walk into any store, or order any length jean and know that it will work (even if a bit of tailoring is needed). Here’s the thing, you can’t add lenghth, but you can sure as heck take it away. So when I saw these bad boys pop up online, I knew I had to take the plunge. The splurge is worth every penny – and I’m so excited to wear them as I transition into spring!

If you’re not 7ft tall like myself , there are much more options for you (so lucky!) I would recommend the shorter flare jean versions below {across multiple price points!}

How I Asked My Bridesmaids to be in My Wedding Party

I had always known that I wanted to do a little something extra when I went about asking the special women in my life to be bridesmaids – I just didn’t know what that something extra would be! I had searched high & low for ideas- scouring Pinterest and trolling bridal websites, but nothing stood out as something that felt like ‘me.’ That is until one day while I was sitting at my desk, burning my favorite candle, that the idea struck me. I would make custom candles and send them to my bridal party along with the very cute rifle paper co ‘Will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor” cards! I love candles. Like love love candles {If I could have this one burning year round, I would} And so creating a custom scent and sending my best friends & family candles just seemed right – I felt so good about the idea! I immediately contacted Wendy from Lakewood Candle Company, and she was amazing. Super sweet, and responsive – she made the entire process a breeze. If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend her!

I picked up these little polka dot treat bags from Sur La Table and some light blue ribbon (to match the colors of my wedding) and wrapped the candles up! Wendy included the boxes, and the whole thing came together really nicely! I was so happy with the way it all turned out, and from the texts and calls from my friends, so were they! Everyone raved about the smell – and I know the simple white glass candle, and understated date will look timeless on any surface or bookshelf in their homes or offices. 🙂

Bridal gifts #1 – success!

If you’re engaged, or married, I’d love to hear how you asked your bridal party to be a part of your big day! There is no right or wrong way, the important thing is just letting the people you love know how special it will be to have them with you on your big day!

The Best Silk Shirt on This Planet

being-bridget-0997being-bridget-0998

Top: Joe Fresh silk tunic  (on sale for $19!) // pants: Faux leather leggings (cheaper version here!) // shoes: Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals // Bag: Chelsea 28 clutch

This top has been one of my favorite tops that I own for over two years now. I also own it in white, and have worn them both to death! They’re real silk, which makes the $19 price tag all the more unbelievable. The length is also perfect. It’s amazing for layering (seen here) or wearing with leggings as seen above. I’m a big fan of faux leather leggings in the winter – chic, but still comfortable and cozy. Get all the details below!
