Jean Cut Offs

Sweater: J.O.A Sweater {under $65} // Shorts: One Teaspoon ‘bandits’ {also in white here} // Shoes: Paloma Barcelo knot slides // Bag: Chelsea28 chain clutch // Hat: Brixton straw hat

Well, we’re officially to the three day countdown! On Wednesday, Alexis {my husband} and I will make the trip over to Geneva. He won’t be staying, but he is going to help get me settled and ready for school – and he will stay for my first day {I begged him!} 🙂 As the day draws nearer, I am equal parts nervous and excited. In school I never had the opportunity to live abroad so this is going to be such a great experience for me. I will say I am a little nervous about going back to school – it’s been so long since I’ve studied for anything, and with my course being hours of immersion M-F, it’s going to be a real wake up call! Regardles, I know it will all be such an adventure and I can’t wait to take you guys along for the ride!

This outfit was all about this incredible cozy sweater. It feels like it was made of buttah and I love the crisp white color. As for these jean shorts – I’ve had them 2 years now and they are my go-tos {I also own them in white!} If you love them, size up because they can be short! I love these because they aren’t tight on my thighs – the leg openings are super wide which make them really comfortable. They also come pre distressed and rolled so you don’t have to do much to make them look good! Lastly, I paired this causal look with my favorite slides and this easy clutch {you’ve seen both before here}

Happy Monday y’all!

Knot Dress

Dress: Velvet by Graham & Spencer Gussie Shirt Dress // Shoes: Schutz ‘Enida’ sandal // Bag: Cambridge Satchel

This dress was one of those dresses that is so much better in person. When I ordered it, I honestly wasn’t expecting much. A grey shirt dress I could wear on the weekends or to dinner with my husband on a nice night – but that’s it. When it arrived though, I immediately fell in love with the color. This is my favorite color — almost a dove grey blue. The best part though is the shape and fit of the dress. It can be super figure hugging or hang more loosely depending on how tight you make the knot on your hip. I also think this dress could be super cute for pregnant women – their bumps would fit perfectly into the fabric in the middle, and it could expand with your ever growing belly!

I paired the dress with these beautiful nude sandals and a crisp white crossbody. I would easily wear this dress out to dinner or with sandals on the weekend for running errands.

Speaking of errands – I have about a thousand to do today in preparation for my move overseas. Where does the time go?! Happy Tuesday y’all!

Off The Shoulder Dress – 2 ways

Dress: Pleione Off the Shoulder Dress {only $69!} // Belt: B-Low the Belt ‘Cassie’ belt // Shoes: Paloma Barcelo Knot Slides // Bag: Chelsea28 Chain Link Clutch // Earrings: Kenneth Jay Lane Stevie earrings

When I saw this dress online I immediately bought it in 4 colors {I’m not joking?} It comes in 7 and is a great price point so I wanted to scoop up as many as possible before it sold out. I also know it will be super versatile! I showed it above dressed down with these incredible knot flats and belted, and below I dressed it up a bit with my fav gladiator sandals & these super cute pom pom earrings. Which version do y’all like better? I can’t wait to show you how I style the other colors – my favorites are the soft pink and orange.

It’s officially T-minus one week until I leave for Geneva! I’m up early getting checking off items on my to-do list and seeing my friends before I go. Can’t believe the time is finally here!

Hope y’all have a wonderful & productive week! xx

Before Moving Abroad – My American Essentials

Tshirt: Sundry // Jeans: Old, similar here // Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies // Striped Top // Shearling throw // Bed frame: One Kings Lane {similar} // Side Table: Laura Lee Clark in Dallas {similar} // Gladiator heels // Plant: Fiddle Leaf fig tree from Ruibals in Dallas @ the Farmers Market {similar here & basket} // Purse // Tye Dye dress // Sunglasses: Here, here & here // Straw hat // Earrings: here & here

As I prepare for my big move to Switzerland, I’ve been thinking a lot about which products I want to take with me. From my travels in the past, I’ve tried to make mental notes when I’ve missed a specific item – like my french vanilla creamer in the morning, to regular sized tampons {TMI?}, there have been instances where you just miss what you’re used too! With that being said, I know living in Europe will be such a fun time to discover new products, so I’m trying not to overthink everything & go into this experience with an open mind! Below are a list of items that I will be shipping over, along with a few things I’m excited about trying out 🙂

Things I’m shipping over:

  • Advil & Tylenol
    • Numerous people have told me that medication in the states is better and/or easier to get, so I’ll be bringing over a few of my must haves!
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons
    • Another great recommendation! I will be living in a home with a full kitchen, so I imagine I will be cooking quite a bit! I have heard measuring cups with American measurements are notoriously hard to find in Europe, so this will be extremely helpful!
  • Tampons
    • Tampons in Europe tend to be the really tiny ones without applicators {I prefer these, so I’m bringing a few boxes with me!}
  • Toothpaste
    • If you’re from New Orleans, then you know about Dr. Tichenors – there is *no* comparison! I can’t live without this. Forget Europe, If I ever run out in Dallas, I make my mom send me more!! {thanks mom!!} 🙂
  • Shampoo
    • Only bringing 1 small shampoo and 1 conditioner – surely I’ll run out, but I’m excited to try new brands over there too!
  • Cold Medicine
    • Same as above! See favorites: Dayquil & Nyquil, Mucinex, Sudafed, Affrin, etc.
  • Coffee Creamer
    • I use 1 of these in my coffee every morning! And with how much studying I’m sure to be doing, I’ll need a stockpile of these to get through my long days
  • Peanut butter
    • I cannot live without my JIF whips! It’s the best!
  • Granola Bars
    • I love to grab these when I don’t have time for breakfast, or need a snack in the middle of the day. Filling and not too sweet!
  • Make up remover wipes
    • I use one of these every night to remove my makeup!
  • Oil blotter sheets
    • These came as a recommendation from one of you! Wouldn’t have thought about Europe not having them, but I am bringing a few packs for my long days as well 🙂
  • School supplies
    • No doubt that Europe has fine options, but one of you also recommended bringing my favorite options because the quality is just different in the EU! Noted –  i will be bringing a few packs of notecards, my favorite notebooks & pens
  • Spices & seasoning
    • Tony Chachere’s – if you don’t know, now you do! I put this on everything. SO addicting!
  • Nail polish
    • Europe obviously carries tons of options, but if you like a certain brand, I would recommend bringing it with you! I love OPI & Essie’s Ballet Slippers {& a quick dry spray I swear by!}
  • Sunscreen
    • Why is sunscreen always so expensive in Europe?! It always comes in tiny bottles and its sooo $$$! I don’t imagine I’ll be needing a bunch of protection, but I’m going to bring over a tube or two just in case we get a few nice days 🙂
  • Vitamins
    • Another recommendation! I will be bringing over a daily vitamin to take everyday
  • Seasoning Mix
    • Ranch Dressing Mix & Taco seasoning – I live in Texas – need I say more?! Besides, along with the Tony Chachere’s, these two things will make making friends a lot easier 😉

Things I’m excited to find & try while over there:

  • Any and every face cream & body lotion
  • Make up products
  • Cheese, condiments {they have the best butters, mustards and mayonnaise!}

Thank you to everyone who sent in recommendations – they have been so helpful! And I hope by sharing all of this, it was helpful for you all as well!

Happy Humpday! xx
