Shopbop Style Event

The Shopbop bi-annual sale is here {!!!}, one of my favorite sales of the year. They have *so* many goodies on sale, many of which are not easy to come by at a discounted price. It feels like Christmas in September ๐Ÿ˜œ The sale is set up in a tiered fashion โ€“ 15% off $200+ purchases, 20% off $500+ purchases, and 25% off $800+ purchases with code STYLE. I have rounded up all my favs, many of which I own and some that are on my wishlist {and will likely be in my cart during the sale!} Also click this link to see all my Style Event selects in one spot.

I would argue denim is one of the best categories to take advantage of during the sale. Denim weather is just around the corner and I know there’s no better feeling than adding a fresh pair to the closet for the new season. All of these jeans are such classic styles and washes that you can reach for in the upcoming years. I’m loving these AG straight-leg jeans {they are soooo good in person} as well as these cream ones which are the perfect fresh take on a white jean for fall. I’m also loving these dark wash skinnies with the ever-so-subtle flare at the bottom.

As the title states, these are my picks for the creme de la creme of Shopbop. I own and wear all of these daily!! If you’ve been following me for longer than a minute you’ve heard me talk about these Agolde denim shorts, they’re perfect. The wash, the length, the quality. I also love and have repurchased these nipple covers *so* many times, they just go perfectly underneath basically everything. I own this Free People sweater in almost every colorway they make it in {not kidding}, it’s just so easy and so comfortable. These receive the award for my favorite sandals and these for my favorite coverups.

In my opinion, a dress with simple flats is the perfect day-to-day uniform. They are so comfortable and easy to wear yet still allow you to look put together. Shopbop really has some great options for fall. I’m obsessing over this blue and black gingham number {you won’t believe the pricetag!}, as well as this slouchy black, knit option {it would be cute dressed up with heels at night time too}. I also love this slim-fitting Self Portrait one with the flutter sleeves โ€“ would be perfect for a nighttime event or date night look.

Jackets are a great category to get the most bang for your buck during the Style Event. I’m loving #2 โ€“ how feminine and pretty is it? I love shades of off-white in the wintertime and this one is just stunning. I also just scooped up this plaid coat which already comes in at a great point pre-sale so who doesn’t love a deal on a deal?! I’m also loving this suede moto-style jacket. I think the color is gorgeous and could be styled in many different ways.

Just like denim, I think sweaters are a great place to invest annually in a few new pieces to add to your collection. What’s not to love about this colorful star number? It’s equal parts fun and wearable. Also, I just purchased #8 and am loving it โ€“ obsessing over the collar detail. #9 is *so* chic, I envision it paired back with a midi skirt and booties for a fun girls night dinn. {with something like these!}

You guys know I’m a shoe gal so this category is fun for me ๐Ÿ™ƒ Loeffler Randall’s are always included in the Shopbop sale so now is a great time to purchase if you’re in the market {I think the cheetah ones are too fun!} With winter vacations coming up, now is a great time to snag a great pair of snow boots. These in particular caught my eye, I love Sorel boots. Lastly, I love the buckle detail on this timeless pair of suede boots. It really elevates a classic shoe, making them that much more special.

Accessories are a great place to consider gifts like these little hoop earrings {who doesn’t need a classic pair of hoops?!} or these classic cat-eye sunglasses. These diamond wavy stacking rings are a total splurge but could make a great special occasion gift โ€“ย I love that they can be worn together or separately. I own this Clare V bag and reach for it summer after summer as it holds up nicely and goes with just about any outfit. Also, I’ve been eyeing #1 for quite some time โ€“ it would make the most fun holiday bag in the upcoming months.

So, that about covers it for my Style Event favs! Be sure to let me know your picks in the comments and if I missed any swoon-worthy styles. Happy Style Event and happy shopping. xx B

Grandma Nia’s Meatloaf

I am asked at least once a week for my meatloaf recipe which was a staple in my house growing up. My mom made this recipe for my family *all* the time and I think it’s so special I can now make it for my family. She originally received the recipe from her roommate in med school and has been making it for over 40 years! Henning loves it {and when I say love, I mean love} and could finish the whole loaf in only a few sittings. The recipe could not be more simple and without fail turns out great every time. Let me know if you try it out. xx B

FOR THE MEATLOAF:
1 1/2 lbs. ground meat
1 cup breadcrumbs (about 3 slices of regular bread cut into small cubes)
1 small onion chopped fine
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 8 oz. can tomato sauce
Mix together with a fork and pat into a loaf shape, place in a 13 x 9 baking dish. {Pro tip: poke a few holes in the meatloaf to allow the sauce to seep down into it.}

FOR THE SAUCE:
1/2 8 oz. can tomato sauce
3 tablespoons white vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons regular yellow mustard
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
Pour the sauce over the meatloaf and bake at 350 degrees for an hour and 15 minutes, keeping an eye on it. Enjoy!
