My Favorite Face Mask

I am frequently asked where I buy my masks and I LOVE these from Needle In A Haystack. They are cute, breathable, and so soft against your skin. They fit the face so well and I love that they have adjustable straps. I honestly forget I’m wearing it sometimes because it is so comfortable! I never have to adjust it and I can’t say the same of other masks I have worn. I usually opt for the darker colors {usually solid navy or black} to keep from showing stains but they have tons of other fun color ways as well. I also love that they come in kid sizes – I just bought Henning one for our flight home to New Orleans!

Memaw’s Thanksgiving Dressing

For as long as I can remember, my mom has made my grandmother Memaw’s dressing recipe every year for Thanksgiving. It’s so good because it’s so simple – there are no frills, or added surprises. It is just a classic dressing recipe I know you are sure to love.

When I asked my mom if I could share this recipe, she said “Please share the dressing recipe. Memaw would be so thrilled to have so many people use her recipe. A friend once told me that you never really die if people still cook with your recipes. It’s a wonderful way to remember our wonderful Memaw.” Mom, I couldn’t agree more!

Without further adieu, I have included the dressing recipe below. My only request is that, if you decide to print it out for your own cookbooks, that you keep it titled as is. So we can always honor and remember our precious Memaw who gave us this wonderful recipe!

INGREDIENTS:
2  sticks butter
1   large onion, finely chopped 
4   stalks celery, finely chopped 
1  small package Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing mix
1  recipe Jiffy corn bread mix, baked according to the directions and cut into small cubes
2  cans Campbell’s chicken with rice soup, undiluted
1 or 2  eggs, slightly beaten  (number depends on size of eggs)

DIRECTIONS:
Melt the butter in a heavy bottomed pan or large skillet.  Add the chopped onion and celery and cook until translucent and limp.  Don’t brown.  In a large bowl, mix the stuffing mix and the corn bread cubes with the soup.  Add the eggs and the cooked onion and celery with the butter they were cooked in.  Mix thoroughly, but don’t mash.  Place dressing in a 9” X 13” pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. 

MOM NOTES:
If you like your dressing very moist, add more chicken broth or chicken and rice soup.  If you like it very dry (crunchy), leave out some of the soup.  Left over cooked, dry white rice can also be added, if you like more rice in the dressing.  This recipe can be doubled or tripled.  If I triple, I don’t use 6 eggs—usually about 4.  I always make the cornbread ahead and I bake it until it is brown and a little dry.  You can make it the day ahead if you want.  If you add it hot and moist to the mix, it can make the dressing a little soggy.

When I think of dressing for holidays, my mind immediately jumps to velvet, silk, feathers, and sequins. I love any occasion to get dressed up, and the holiday season is the perfect reason to! With so few social gatherings last year, I am extra excited to spend time with loved ones throughout this holiday season {especially with the ability to travel again!} I am sooo looking forward to traveling to New Orleans to spend Christmas with my family in a few weeks. I have rounded up some fun, festive options that are sure to suit all your fun, festive occasions.

Thanksgiving Outfits 2021

As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I rounded up some of the season’s best looks for the special occasion. I am so excited for all of the fun holiday festivities that await and the fun outfits that accompany them. I am loving this co-ords set {top // bottom} that I would 100% purchase if I wasn’t pregnant – the pieces can be worn together or separately and the prices are so good. Love a 3-n-1 outfit! As for what I’m personally planning to wear? I think it will have to be this number. I’m obsessed with all things gingham and the stretchy waist makes it sooo comfortable for my ever expanding pregnant belly {I will be 23 weeks by Thanksgiving!} If you aren’t pregnant, but plan on eating a lot {as I plan to do!} I suggest a stretchy waist – nothing beats it.
