Favorite NSALE Beauty Picks

Last year was the first time I ever really invested in my beauty routine – and it all started with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It was my gateway drug, if you will. I had always wanted to try out the Creme De La Mer, but could never justify the price. Enter in last years beauty exclusive, and I was not only able to scoop up the cream, but also an entire set of La Mer products for 40% off the original value! This years exclusives are no different – same incredible brands for 30,40% off the original values. It’s impossible to pick a favorite, so I’ve included the few I purchased, and a few more on my wishlist below.

La Mer The Radiant Collection: $469 $330

Similar to last years set, this years version of the La Mer beauty exclusive is a must have for me. Although an investment, all of my products from last years set lasted me through the year, so I feel confident that I am making a smart investment. Included in the set is the eye concentrate (0.17 oz.), Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream (1 oz.), the Lifting Eye Serum (0.17 oz.), The Treatment Lotion (0.5 oz.), and The Renewal Oil (0.5 oz.). My favorite of these is of course the cream {too heavy for summer, but a total lifesaver during the dry winter months} and the eye concentrate {a little goes a longggg way}. I’m also excited to try the lifting eye serum – the skin around one’s eyes is some of the most delicate skin on the body, so I’m always excited to try new products – especially when they’re serums!

RevitaLash ADVANCED Duo: $196 $98

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I swear by my RevitaLash serum. To back up a little bit, a few years ago I went through a phase where I was getting eyelash extensions every two weeks. Although impractical {& expensive!} it was the only way I knew how to improve upon my naturally short & stumpy lashes. The extension would look great for a few days, and then eventually clump up and go haywire making my lashes feel sore and ache {not to mention, make me look crazy!} After a while I developed an allergy to the glue and was forced to give up the extensions all together, but I’m so grateful for the experience of wearing them because I now know for sure that RevitaLash is the way to go for me. Now, there is no time spent in a chair, no bi-monthly appointments, no time spent adjusting wonky lashes in the mirror. All it takes is one swipe at the base of each lash every night before bed, and a bit of patience {it takes 2-3 weeks of consistent use before you will see results.}  Once you see your results, you will never go back to life without RevitaLash. I now have the longest most natural looking lashes, and it’s all thanks to this product! The #nsale is an incredible time to try this product out because you get two tubes of the serum for the price of one!

Charlotte Tilbury The Pretty Pink Lipstick Set: $90 $60

Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite make up brands {I swear by this product of hers} & I always get so excited about these little lipstick sets she makes exclusive for the sale every year. Arguable her most popular shade, Pillow Talk is included in this years set which I have been dying to try. She also included two Nordstrom exclusive colorways – Rose Kiss, a soft warm merlot color with a matte finish and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Blushing Dream, a cool feminine rosebud colorway with a satin finish. Needless to say I’m extremely excited about all three of these products!

SPACE.N.K. Apothecary Oribe Magic Styling Set: $90 $60

Everyone’s favorite hair product is finally on sale, and the best part is you are getting two full size canisters. I love the dry texturizing spray because it adds a bit of grit to dirty hair allowing you to prolong its life between washes. It also acts as an invisible dry hairspray that builds incredible volume and texture. To use, spray into the roots of dry hair or any areas where you want volume or texture. Did I mention this is one of those products that just smells amazing? I would bottle it up and wear it as perfume if I could. Also included in this set is a full size Gold Lust Dry Shampoo (6 oz.) which is a ‘dry shampoo that absorbs product buildup, oil and impurities with translucent powders while soothing the scalp and restoring strength and softness.’ I haven’t tried this product yet but I am eager to try it out. If it’s anywhere near as good as the texturizing spray, I’m sure I’ll love it.

BeautyBio GloPRO – Microneedling Regeneration Tool Face & Eye Set: $287 $169

I have had my GloPro microneedling tool for almost 7 months now and use it every week. As I explained in my post here, I believe in the fact that it helps my skin better absorb the products I’m putting onto it {important when I’m spending an arm and a leg on products like La Mer!} With this set you are getting the Microneedling Regeneration Tool, the Face MicroTip Attachment, the Eye MicroTip attachment, the Bright Eyes Illuminating Colloidal Silver + Collagen Eye Patches (10-pack), the Skin Prep Pad (5-pack), and the Quench Moisturizer. Pretty amazing!

Kate Somerville DermalQuench Liquid Lift Advanced Wrinkle Treatment: $140 $105

I started noticing fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and mouth about a year ago so I set out to find a good at-home solution. I had heard great things about Kate Sommerville products, and after doing some research and reading the 100+ reviews on this DermalQuench Liquid Lift here, I decided to give it a try. The product comes out of the can ice cold and causing a slight tingly feeling once it hits the skin {I love that it does this!} It feels so refreshing and cool, and cold liquid on the skin is actually really good for it. A tip my facialist gave me {which seems so obvious in retrospect} was to only use the product in areas of need {vs. slathering it all over my face} I now only apply the liquid lift on areas that require it – my neck, eyes and mouth – stretching the product out to have a longer lifespan! Although I haven’t noticed major results yet, I do feel as if my skin is softer, and less dry in the specific areas where I’m using the product.

Supergoop! SPF 50 Sunscreen Trio: $57 $38 & Supergoop! Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45 & Refill Set $70 $40

I’m a huge fan of Supergoop! and have been for a while, so as soon as I saw this SPF 50 sunscreen trio, I knew I wanted it for my trip to the beach. I’ll also keep a bottle or two by my own pool so we always have some handy if my family or friends ever come over to swim. If you remember from this post, I have always used an invisible powder and absolutely love that this one has protection in it. I am naturally fair skinned, and have been wearing a daily sunscreen for over 15 years, so imagine my excitement when I found this product as part of the sale! I knew I had to stock up on it as well.

ITEMS BELOW ON MY WISH LIST:

SK-II Deluxe Skin Care Set $274 $191

This product has been referred to as ‘miracle water’ and I know why. After using for several weeks, my skin became so soft and so smooth that even my husband noticed. I was so taken aback that I actually stopped using the product for a few months because I didn’t know what to think – but with all my recent traveling and skin changes, I’m back and have never been happier. Not only does this product make your skin insanely soft, but it reduces redness evens out your skin tone {if you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know I talk about dealing with both of those issues often!} The main ingredient in the essence is Pitera and often referred to as ‘youth in a bottle.’ Read more about that ingredient here. To apply, I pour a few drops into the palm of my hand and gently pat it into my skin. Other items included in this set are the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Cream (0.5 oz.), a Facial Treatment Mask (1 mask), and the Facial Treatment Cleanser (3.6 oz.).

Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Glowing Skin Set  $128.50 $75

I love the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – it’s slightly heavier than a light moisturizer, but still goes on really smooth and has a lightweight texture. It also has such a nice, light smell that I love. I’ve had my jar for a year and a half and I’m only now reaching the end of the jar – a little goes a long way! This set would be an amazing way to get a refill on my beloved cream, while also trying out the Wonderglow Instant Soft Focus Beauty Flash – ‘a visionary hybrid primer that combines an anti-aging elixir and complexion-enhancing light diffusers to turn dull, dehydrated skin around in a flash.‘

La Mer The Mini Miracles Collection $156 $85

Although I love the classic Creme de la Mer lotion for the winter, it is much too heavy for skin in the summer. That’s why I’m also purchasing this La Mer set – it comes with the moisturizing soft cream which has all the benefits of the classic La Mer cream, but is much lighter on the skin. Bonus for getting an extra eye concentrate! Can never have enough of that.

SPACE.N.K. apothecary Oribe Gold Lust Set $57 $38

I’m such a sucker for a travel sized product, and since I already have the Dry texturizing spray and love it, it wouldn’t hurt to have the travel size version. I’ve also been dying to try the oribe shampoo and conditioner and this is a good way to do so without investing so much!

Tata Harper Skincare Complete Skin Care Regimen Set $202 $144

I have the Tata Harper resurfacing mask and love it. When I saw this set included in the sale I knew I wanted it! It includes the Regenerating Cleanser, Resurfacing Mask, Rejuvenating Serum, and the Reparative Moisturizer. Tata Harper products are amazing because they’re toxic free and not tested on animals, which are two added bonuses mattering to me more and more these days!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo $43 $28

I love my Anastasia BH Brow pencil, and this seems like a steal to also get her clear brow gel as well!

Arcona Magic White Ice Jumbo Hydrating Gel $62 $40

I’ve heard this hydrating gel is amazing, and I’ve always wanted to try it. Maybe now is the right time!

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment $212.50 $125

This is one of Kate’s most well known products, and it’s one I’ve only tried from a free tester!

Jouer The Nude Lip Gloss Duo  $34 $22

I have this lip duo and the color has become one of my absolute favorites! You can’t beat this price.

My Picks: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s here it’s here! The NSALE has finally opened to the public and is available to shop for those who are Nordstrom card holders.

I was lucky enough to be able to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a day early today and I can’t tell you how many *incredible* pieces there are on major sale. I was so excited, I went home and immediately shot my favorite items, so I could share them with you as soon as the sale started! Check out the looks below, and let me know in the comments what you were able to snag. Can’t wait to hear!

Sweater: Trouve Rib Funnel Neck Sweater (sz. S, $79 $52) // Jeans: Old, Similar here // Boots: Vince Camuto Movinta Booties ($150 $100) // Bag: Sole Society Tesso Calf Hair Clutch ($75 $50) // Sunglasses: Celine

How gorgeous is this sweater? I’m obsessed with how big and cozy it is, and how incredibly soft. Bright red was one of my favorite colors last fall & winter so I’m excited to have a new bright piece to bring into 2018! I love it paired here with a lighter wash denim and these gorgeous triangle heeled boots.

Jacket: BB Dakota Faux Leather Gabrielle Drape Jacket in Toffee (sz. S, $105 $70) // Top: BP. White Lace Trim Satin Camisole (sz. XS, $35 $23) // Jeans: Wit & Wisdom Indigo Elastic Waist Jean (sz. 4 $68 $45) //Boots: Vince Camuto Movinta Booties ($150 $100) // Bag: Old, similar here // Sunglasses: Celine // Necklace: Shashi Love Necklace

BB Dakota is known for their incredible faux leather jackets in an array of colors. I was so excited to see this colorway available during the sale because it is so versatile! Paired it here with this beautiful white satin camisole and super cool black boots.

Jacket: Halogen Zip Field Jacket (sz. S $119 $80) //  Top: Halogen hi-lo tee (sz. S $29 $20) // Jeans: AG ‘The Legging’ Super Skinny Jean (sz. 27 $225 $149) //Boots: Vince Camuto Reeista Booties ($150 $100) // Bag: Old, similar here // Sunglasses: Celine // Hat: Treasure & Bond (one size $49 $32)

Can never go wrong with a military jacket – you can throw this thing on top of anything and it will add a bit of edge. Love that it’s slightly boxy! Adds a bit of structure I like.

Same shirt as in the images above, I just untucked it!

Top: Halogen hi-lo tee (sz. S $29 $20)

Sweater: Trouve Rib Funnel Neck Sweater (sz. S, $79 $52) // Jeans: AG ‘The Legging’ Super Skinny Jean (sz. 27 $225 $149) // Boots: Vince Camuto Reeista Booties ($150 $100) // Bag: Celine // Sunglasses: Celine

Again with this sweater, but I just couldn’t help myself. It’s tooooo good. Especially for the price! How beautiful is this oak-y taupe color? I love wearing this shade in a fall – the options to pair with it are endless!

Jacket: Caslon Cotton Parka (sz. XS, $89 $60) // Top: Current Elliott Star Top (sz. 0, $128 $85) // Jeans: Grey 7 For All Mankind b(air) Jeans (sz. 26, $189 $126) // Shoes: Frye Ivy Sneaker // Bag: old, similar here // Sunglasses: Celine

Y’all know I love a fun, playful t-shirt and this one is no exception – the stars and soft jersey-like material make it the perfect layering piece. I love this parka paired on top with these super cool raw hem light grey jeans.

Jacket: Grey Halogen Moto Jacket (sz. S, $239 $160) // Top: BP. White Lace Trim Satin Camisole (sz. XS, $35 $23) // Jeans: Wit & Wisdom Indigo Elastic Waist Jean (sz. 4, $68 $45) // Shoes: Vince Alora Mules ($295 $195) // Bag: Old, similar here // Sunglasses: Celine

I don’t normally gravitate towards moto jackets but I just couldn’t get over this color! The dove grey is so beautiful in real life and I love that it would make the perfect summer to fall transition piece.

Top: Alternative Distressed Tee (sz. S, $38 $25)// Jeans: Articles of Society Black Skinny Jean (sz. 26, $64 $42) // Shoes: Vince Alora Mules ($295 $195) // Bag: Saint Laurent Betty Bag // Sunglasses: Celine

Simple, but sweet. This is exactly the type of look I’d wear on a daily basis. I fell in love with this light olive t-shirt and instead of wearing it with sweats {as they intended for it} I like it better here paired with jeans! 🙂

Top: Alo Yoga hi-lo top (sz. XS, $68 $45) // Leggings: Zella high waist legging (sz. S, $54 $36) // Shoes: Adidas Edge Lux Clima Running Shoe ($85 $64)

I lovvvvve me some Zella activewear – especially when it’s on major sale! These high waisted leggings are so crazy comfortable I bought 2 pairs! I know I’ll wear these all the time. Also, how great are these Adidas tennis shoes? I love how neutral they are.

PJs: Ugg Cassandra Check Pajama Set (sz. XS, $73 $49)

The PJ sets during the NSALE are always some of the best finds, and I’m especially obsessed with this one. Light blue and checkered pj set under $50 – need I say more?

Bodysuit: Old, similar // Skirt: Halogen tie waist skirt (sz. 0, $$) // Boots: Sam Edelman Caprice Knee High Boot  ($225 $150) //Bag: Saint Laurent Betty Bag

I felt a little like Blair from Gossip Girls in this outfit, but I’m not sorry about it! Love love love this paper bag waisted skirt, and navy + black has always been one of my favorite color combinations. These boots are the perfect top off!

Outerwear: Treasure and Bond Blanket Stripe Zip Cape (one size, $149 $99) // Top: BP. V-Neck Shirt (sz. S, $17 $11)// Jeans: Frame Denim Skinny Jeans (sz. 26, $205 $137) // Shoes: Vince Alora Mules ($295 $195) // Bag: Old, Similar Here //Sunglasses: Celine

As soon as I saw this cape I knew I had to have it. It’s such a statement piece and can be worn with either short or long sleeves. I love the funky stripes, and the big pockets. I know this will be something I layer with on repeat all winter long.

Sweater: Halogen 100% Cashmere Poncho (one size, $149 $99) // Jeans: Article of Society Skinny Jeans (sz. 26, $64, $42) // Shoes: Marc Fisher Miggi Bootie ($189 $125) // Bag: Celine // Sunglasses: Celine

Another incredible buy during the NSALE is always the cashmere. Trust me, and just dive into this category a little bit. You won’t regret it. The poncho above is 100% cashmere and feels like buttah.

Outerwear: Halogen Drape front coat (sz. S, $239 $160) // Top: Trouve Long Sleeve Shirt (sz. S, $49 $32) // Jeans: DL1961 Skinny Jeans (sz. 26, $179 $99) // Bag: Old, Similar Here // Boots: Vince Camuto Movinta Booties ($150 $100) // Sunglasses: Celine // Hat: Treasure & Bond (one size)

Last but not least, I saw this drapey grey coat and knew I needed it. It’s heavy and warm and will be wonderful in place of a coat come winter. I love how easily you can layer underneath as well!

Travel Essentials: What’s In My Carry-On Bag

Sweatshirt: Mother LA Sweatshirt // Jeans: AG Jeans // Shoes: Frye Ivy Sneaker // Bag: Barrington Gifts St. Anne tote

I travelled more last year than I ever have in my entire life, and what it taught {among many things!} was how to travel smart. I perfected my carry on tote essentials by really learning what items would make my travel experience that much better, and I can’t wait to share those tips & tricks with you.

CARRY ON TOTE

One of the most important things when travelling is having quality luggage. This is your support system – the backbone of a good days travel, and you need to invest. I have two favorite carry on tote bags – a Goyard St. Louis tote and my Barrington Gifts St. Anne Tote {pictured above} The St. Anne is great because it is extremely durable. I have slung this bag across train stations in Europe, stuffed it under plane seats, spilled on it, scuffed it, loved on it, used and abused it in every sense of the word and it still looks like new. It’s a nice large size, without being bulky or overbearing and holds a ton of stuff without getting too heavy or putting too much pressure on the straps. I also love that you can customize it in a million different ways! There are literally thousands of different combinations to choose from. For the price, this bag is my #1 pick for travel.

OSTRICH PILLOW

We all know that sleeping on a plane can be difficult, but with it’s super soft jersey material, and soft, squishy interior, the Ostrich Pillow makes it so much easier.  This O shaped travel pillow lays on top of your eyes and ears, blocking out sound and light, and acts as a rest for the head. I first discovered it’s magic a few years ago when I had to spend a few nights in a hospital with a loved one. My sister-in-law, Katelyn, had an Ostrich pillow with her and let me borrow it when it became clear I would have to spend the night at the hospital in a chair – with machines beeping and nurses and doctors coming and going at all hours, this pillow was crucial in helping me get a few, precious hours of sleep. Ever since, I haven’t travelled without it. In comparison to that chair in the hospital, sleeping on a plane is a breeze!

SILK SLEEP MASK

I used to think I didn’t like sleep masks. Maybe it was the added weight on my eyelids, or the feeling of being ‘blacked out,’ I’m not sure, but what I do know is that last year something  changed and now I love the luxe feeling of slippery silk on my eyelids when I hit the hay. The weight is now a comfort I crave and especially so when I’m traveling – you never know if the place you’ll lay your head at the end of the night will have black out shades or early sunrises, and this little mask is incredible for blocking all that out.

TRUFFLE CLARITY CASES

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love my Truffle clarity cases. They’re stiff and sturdy and come in several different sizes {all of which I own & love}. The sizes shown above are described in detail below:

  • Large: Computer charger/portable charger/iPhone charger
  • Small: Cosmetics & travel beauty
  • Mini: Chapstick, bandaids, hairties, etc.

If you’re looking for a similar case for less, I’ve found these great dupes here for under $15 {here & here} – I own these as well and although they’re less sturdy, they’re still well made & a great bargain!

LAPTOP + CASE

I never travel without my laptop, but because the Macbooks are so light and thin these days that I haven’t found they add much bulk to my bag. With that being said, I knew I wanted a sleek, yet protective slip cover to keep it secure and safe from any tumbles or abuse my bag might take, and this one is perfect. It is thin, with a jelly consistency which protects my laptop quite nicely.

NOTEBOOK

Ideas are always coming to me at the most random times, so I like to keep a notebook with me when I travel. This one is by far my favorite {and trust me, I have tried quite a few} I use it to make to-do lists, jot down notes, or keep track of itineraries or tickets. I like that the cover is hardbound and sturdy, and the cute print on the outside doesn’t hurt either! 🙂

PENS

I discovered these pens while living in Europe and they are my absolute favorite. I love that they have a super fine tip with ink that doesn’t bleed – I also love that they come in tons of colors! I always carry 1 or 2 of them with me whenever I travel!

SNACKS

We’ve all been that person – starving in an airport, staring blankly at a giant wall of potato chips, candy and salted nuts and wonder what on earth you’re going to eat. To avoid that, and to eat a little healthier, I always pack a few rX bars. I love these because they’re healthy, compact and also extremely filling. I can eat one and be good for several hours before I get hungry again.

The below are not pictured above, but are always with me

EARPHONES

This one is obvious, but the important thing to take note of is what kind of earphones. My husband and I are both huge fans of Bose. Although an investment, you are getting the best quality product on the market at this time. My husband swears by these, while I prefer this simpler model.  I also recently acquired these Bose ‘sleepbuds’ – have y’all heard about these? They play soothing sounds that cover up unwanted noise and help you fall asleep and stay asleep. We’ve all had those nights where our husband is snoring too loudly, or the traffic outside is too noisy, and you can’t sleep. These mask those unwanted sounds and give you a peaceful nights rest. Heavenly! Beyond that, they also lay flush with your ear so you can comfortably sleep. Sounds like a win/win/win if you ask me!

KINDLE

I just bought a kindle for my upcoming travel and I could *not* be more excited. I love to read when I’m on vacation or coming/going through airports, and instead of carrying big bulky books, or reading on my tiny iPhone screen, I’m going to have my brand new Kindle Featherweight {I’m seriously squealing with delight!} The Kindle Featherweight lets you download hundreds of books and makes it so you can read in the shade OR in the sun making this such a better option than the iPad. Can’t wait to use it!

EYE GELS AND/OR FACE MASK

Flying can be so harsh on your skin. The high altitude can dry out your skin and leave you feeling dull and tight. I always like to pack an eye gel or two and a face mask to apply once we’ve taken off. My favorite eye gels are these by Skynn Iceland. They feel so cooling when you put them under your eyes and don’t drip all over your face when you put them on. They stay put, and oftentimes I will fall asleep wearing them! This super hydrating mask is currently my favorite mask for travel because it isn’t drippy & wet either – you can actually put it all over your face and let it absorb like lotion. Wash it off in 10 minutes or 10 hours! I oftentimes sleep with mine and rinse right before landing.

SOCKS

I am always cold, but especially so on airplanes. I always pack a pair of socks to slip on once we’ve taken off so I can make sure my feet and ankles stay warm. My favorite socks are these by Falke – I discovered them from my husband who wears them to work under his suits! They’re super lightweight and thin, but made from a high quality nice material. They feel luxe without feeling too heavy, and provide the perfect amount of heat without ever making me feel too hott. I also love that they go all the way up to the knee!

What are you aboslute carry on travel must haves? Let me know in the comments! Bonus points if you share any fun upcoming trips 😉
