Matouk Butterfield Bedding

Matouk Butterfield Standard Pillowcase, Pair // Matouk Butterfield King Pillowcase, Pair // Matouk Pearl Coverlet {in white} // Matouk Butterfield Flat Sheet

With baby coming in just a few short weeks, I knew I wanted to get our guest bedroom in order. My parents are planning on staying with us when he’s born and although my dad will probably only visit for a few days, my mom is going to stay for atleast two weeks! My parents are the most low maintenance guests, but I wanted to do something special for their arrival. Plus, the sheets on the bed were some cheapies we had bought when we first moved in and it was time to update them. My mom has always loved Matouk linens, so they were the first company I thought of when looking for new sheets. Since I never sleep in the guest room, I wanted to choose a set I knew she would love. As soon as I saw the scalloped edges on this set, I knew I had to have them. They come in several colors, but blue has always been a favorite color of mine, and it matched my consignment store find-of-a-lifetime headboard perfectly. They’re also that percale cotton that she and I both love so much. Percale sheets are the kind that feel cold and crisp when you climb into bed, and Matouk makes some of the best on the market. I can’t wait for them to come visit when baby comes, and now I’ll feel especially good knowing they’ll be as comfortable as possible. Someone should be getting restful sleep {even if it’s not going to be me! :P}

When my husband and I got married, the first thing we invested in was beautiful, high quality linens and I have never appreciated anything more! It makes crawling into bed every night feel like the ultimate luxury – and we both sleep soooo much better because of it. I bought all my Matouk bedding at Bloomingdale’s where they have an incredible selection of all the best in luxury bedding. Their selection of Matouk is next level, but if you want to check out all the other options you can do so here! What do y’all think of investment bedding? Do you think it is worth the initial upfront cost? Let me know in the comments!

Master Bathroom Organization: Before and After

My bathroom drawers had been driving me crazy for months {maybe even years} and I knew it was now or never before baby to get them organized! Drawing on my own experience with what The Container Store offered, I went over with a few ideas of what organizers would work best in my spaces. I love and good before and after, and I’m pretty proud of how it all turned out, so I wanted to share it with you all! I know that once baby is here, this simple organization will make such a huge difference in giving me some form of peace. When things in my life are organized – I am a more more stable human 😛 Nesting has never felt or looked better 😉

See below for my bathroom transformation and let me know in the comments if you have done anything similar!

Acrylic Storage Containers {click to see all sizes avail}

This drawer was an unorganized tangle of bobby pins, hair ties, hair clips and styling tools. It feels so much better having a home for everything. I actually only used three containers here, but used the negative space in between as storage areas as well! I have found this so easy to keep organized and looking good.

Acrylic Storage Containers {click to see all sizes avail} // Acrylic Toothbrush Holder

This drawer was a catch all drawer – brushes, random headbands, medicine, wipes and q-tips….I never had a spot for my toothpaste and toothbrush so those always just laid messily on my countertop. I use all of these items every single day so I knew I wanted everything to have a home. This new organization gives me all the good feels – I love it.

Clear Deep Stackable Plastic Bin {available here & here} // Divided Lazy Susan {mine is the 9″}

The under counter struggle. I had this giant pipe sticking out underneath so I knew finding an organized solution would be somewhat challenging – hence why I let it get as unorganized and messy as I did! I would just throw stuff down there, close the cabinet doors and pray that things wouldn’t fall onto the floor once I opened them again. A friend of mine suggested I use the stackable plastic bins with a lazy susan in the middle and she could not have been more spot on! The lazy susan allows me to have tons of product rotate in a space that would be otherwise limited. The stackable bins are great too – I even have room to fit more on top if I need to down the line!

a closer look…

Clear Stackable Large Shoe Drawer // Clear Stackable Sweater & Accessory Drawer

This large cabinet was a storage spot for old towels, robes and a mishmash of random beauty products. The previous owners of our home had used this cabinet as their medicine storage and I remember really liking their set up {kicking myself for not sneakily taking a photo!} Anyway, I organized my beauty items into categories and put them into the shoe drawers, and then finally organized our medicine and put that into the accessory drawers. I love how clean and easy {and accessible!} it all turned out. As for the shelf above – I kept these items out so I could see them. They are all new-ish items I want to make sure I use before they expire. It’s easier for me to remember to do so if I can see them.

Lipstick Holder // Large Shoe Box // Acrylic Storage Containers

Another drawer that was such a mess. I just threw whatever in here and it would pile up into one giant drawer of crap. I now have vitamins and supplements, long forgotten lipsticks and eyeshadow pallets, extras of my favorite products {revitalash, mascara, bronzer} all organized neatly into their new homes. I think I could even go one step further here and put the bronzer and blushes into a container but for right now it works! I can see everything I have and if I ever run out of a product, I know just where to find it.

The Softest Gift You Can Give on Mother’s Day

Bath Towels: Weezie // Bath Sheet: Weezie // Hand Towels: Weezie // Monogram style: River {all lowercase}

Y’all already know I love my weezie towels {seen first here} – they’re soft, incredibly absorbent and just a step above and beyond the rest in terms of design and color/monogram options. I have loved every second of using them over the last few months – especially during my first and second trimester where anything plush feels extra luxurious!

When we settled on a date for my baby shower in Dallas, I knew my mom would be visiting right before Mother’s Day.  I wanted to gift her with something extra special because she is the most selfless person on this planet, and as I am about to become a mother myself, I stop and wonder {and I mean really wonder!} how she managed to make raising 6 kids look easy. My mom has used the same old towels from TJ Maxx for 10+ years, so I knew personalized towels from Weezie would be the ultimate surprise! I wanted her to feel loved, and pampered and special, and these towels, with just her name, feel just that – special!

Needless to say, my mom LOVED the towels. She was so excited! If you caught my stories over on my Instagram you might have seen her reaction from this past weekend! It was so sweet and genuine. She said she’s never had anything monogrammed with just her name her entire life! {Seriously!?} We grew up with our monograms on everything and my sweet mom has never had anything monogrammed of her own?! It made the surprise that much better.

Anyway, I can’t recommend Weezie towels enough – they are so wonderful, and really would make the best Mother’s Day gift for any mama or mama to be in your life! Oh! And because y’all are amazing, the ladies behind Weezie have created a VERY special discount code for Being Bridget readers! They *never* offer discount codes or special sale offers to anyone, so you won’t find this sort of deal anywhere else 🙂 Use code: BRIDGET for 15% off everything {except starter packs since those are already 15% off!} Offer lasts until May 1st and 1x use per customer!

Happy shopping! xx

My Office Bookshelves + Tips to Style Your Own

I work from my office every single day, and when my bookshelves show up in the background of my Instagram stories, I get so many questions about the styling of them! I must admit – I owe all credit to one of my best friends, Lauren, who is so talented – especially when it comes to bookshelves. She was the one who styled them and decided to organize them by color {which I love and think is so fun!}

Surprisingly, I already owned all of these books, and we just used ‘knick knacks’ that I either bought, or collected over the years from travels and whatnot. I have done my best to link as many of the items as I can, but feel free to just use mine as inspiration! This would be sooo easy to recreate at home. A few tips I’ve picked up from Lauren, and others over the years are below!

Add Texture
This one is soooo important! Adding in plants or succulents is a really easy way to not only add a little color, but to also add in texture. Succulents are especially nice because they don’t require a lot of attention – you can water them every couple of weeks and then just let them be. I also love adding in personal mementos like a photo or a knick knack from a recent trip. These not only make me happy, but are also great for adding that second layer of texture.

Go vertical and horizontal
You don’t want your bookshelves to look too perfect, so lay some of your books vertically while some are propped horizontally. I also love to arrange some at an angle – take a stack of smaller books and angle them inward. All of these little tricks will create a more interesting scene than if all the books were organized perfectly in a line.

If you need to, take book covers off
I do this all the time. Sometimes book covers can be too fussy but the book underneath is perfect. Usually all one color, this is a great trick if you are sticking to a theme when styling. I did this a lot when I did the bookshelves in my den and wanted everything to be neutral.

Leave some space
I didn’t use this tip in my office since these shelves are smaller, but I definitely learned the importance of this when we did the bookshelves in my den. If the shelves are long, you need to leave white space so they don’t feel cluttered. You need to step back and remember that don’t need to fill in every space – leave a few open spots so the shelves don’t feel so heavy.  When in doubt, leave it empty! You can always add more over time.

Don’t be afraid to have fun!
There are no rules – If you want to go more neutral, then go more neutral! If you want it to be crazy, and color coordinated, then do that. The best part about bookshelves is that they can constantly evolve.
